What is Occupational Therapy?
Occupational therapy is a client-centred health profession concerned with promoting health and well-being through participation in occupations. The primary goal of occupational therapy is to enable people to participate in the activities of everyday life e.g. Selfcare, play, work/education, leisure and social participation.
The following components are addressed during therapy, but not limited to:
- Gross motor skills e.g. posture, balance, bilateral integration and motor planning.
- Fine motor skills
- Visual perceptual skills.
- Activities of daily living e.g. self-care, life skills, leisure time, play.
- Social participation and social skills.
Occupational therapy services offered:

- Occupational therapy evaluations and treatment.
- Individual, group and classroom interventions.
- Adaptations and assistive devices to enable learners to function as independently as possible in daily life.
- Referral for further services if required.
